Laguna Chillata (1-2 Days)
The hike to Laguna Chillata is a beautiful full-day or half-day trek in the Cordillera Real, offering spectacular views, a turquoise mountain lake, and impressive rock formations. It is less demanding than the hike to Laguna Glaciar and therefore perfect for acclimatization or as an independent tour.

Starting Point
The tour usually starts:
- in Sorata (2,700 m) with a transfer or overnight stay to the Laguna Chillata trailhead, or
directly on foot from the village (longer & more challenging) up to Campamento Laguna Chillata (approx. 6 hours).
Route Description

Beginning through meadows and terraced fields
The trail climbs gently between rocks and small farmhouses. -
Steeper section over rock slabs
The views over the Sorata valley become increasingly impressive. -
Arrival at Laguna Chillata (approx. 4,200 m)
The lake sits in a semicircular cirque beneath impressive rock walls, often perfectly still and turquoise.
